The Terrorism Resources pages were developed by the staff of the Western New York Library Resources Council initially to help people find materials that would assist in understanding and dealing with the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States. The resources have been expanded to include materials on terrorism in general. This site is organized into 9 categories. Under each category is a list of web sites pertaining to a variety of issues and topics that fall into that category. For example, information on anthrax will be located under the category Bioterrorism whereas information on airport security will be listed under the category Travel.

Libraries in the area have excellent print resources that may provide more in-depth information on specific issues. For example, more in-depth information on the people and government of Middle East countries can be found in reference and circulating books. Additionally, many subject specific journals covering issues related to terrorism may be available only in print.

We encourage you to work with librarians at your local libraries to locate the additional information you will need. For a complete listing of libraries that belong to the Western New York Library Resources Council, along with descriptions on their special collections, go to WNYLRC Members Directory. To search for books, videos, and other information belonging to WNYLRC Member libraries, go to the region's virtual union catalog, WNYLibraries.org.
